Where's the Beach?

By the time you get this far north, you will find that the glaciers didn't leave much beach behind. We have large sandy beaches which include Popham Beach, Reid State Park, and Pemaquid Beach. We have wonderful rocky shores with seaweed and tidal pools. Small beaches of sand or pebbles are scattered like hidden treasures between the protecting ridges of granite that run down into the seas.
