A LUCKY CAST With its deep water dock and float stretching out into the Sheepscot River, you will love all things salt-water when staying at A Lucky Cast on Westport Island! Kayaking and canoeing, floating with the tide, practicing your cast or simply relaxing and enjoying the sights, A Lucky Cast is a lucky find! Views of Barters Island and more are yours from the dock, lawn, decks and house. Away from city lights, stargazing on Westport Island is truly amazing. The owners of A Lucky Cast have created the perfect spot for their telescope on the top floor of the house for you to enjoy the night sky.
SO MUCH TO SEE, SO MUCH TO DO! Like most salt-water tidal rivers, the aquatic life is bountiful around Westport Island. You will enjoy bird-watching even if that is not your norm. Expect to see egrets, herons, loons, osprey, eagles and more. Also seals, porpoise and otters have been known to frequent the area. Did you say lobster for dinner? Of course, you can get out in the water yourself. Sailing, kayaking, rowing and more are easy to do from your private dock & float. This is the perfect home for an active family. Just getting up and down the many steps leading from the house to the water is a better workout than most gym equipment offer. But the effort is absolutely worth it! The owners have generously provided the home with four kayaks for your use.

WHY BOOK WITH COTTAGE CONNECTION? Vacation Rentals. Privately Owned. Professionally Managed. Trusted since 1993. Cottage Connection was one of the first vacation rental companies in the Mid-coast region of Maine. Jeff and Audrey Miller, who own three vacation rental homes themselves had an aha moment when they realized they could not find anyone who ‘got it’ to manage their rentals for them. Since 1993 they have been trusted by homeowners and vacationers to “connect” each family with the perfect cottage for their vacation. As Audrey puts it; “The home they stay in becomes a personality, a part of their lore, when a family connects with the right cottage. Whether they want a rustic cabin in the woods or a high-end ocean bungalow, the right setting sets the tone for the entire vacation.” Learn more about how Cottage Connection can help make your vacation perfect!
